"Production Workshop Minutes"

early, early one morning………..

This was a quickie, rest of the time devoted to our lovely proposers…..

so present: all but Eric.

First off, we did some cleanin' and rearranging 'round our space. The shop received some, as did the paint/costume room. Looking good….. (8am always looks better with a bagel and a spot of coffee.)

Work Calls…… coming up!

  • Oct. 9, 7:00 pm to tackle the FURNITURE room……… we need lotsa bodies.
  • Oct. 14 4:30 pm to set up the downstairs space for Three Chairs, Two Cubes. Come out and play with us.

Monologues!!! Coming Halloween weekend. An evening of original monologues, happening in the upstairs space. Keep an eye out for posters a la Dana Edell, but here's some info to get ya going:

  • Monologue scripts are due Oct. 20, NOON in the SAO box 69. (Tuesday)
  • Directors will read scripts, apply, and be chosen on the 22nd, 6-9 pm. (Thursday)
  • Actors will audition the 23rd, 5-8 PM.

Anybody dying to stage manage? A nice project that won't be a class-crippling time commitment……

CONGRATULATIONS to all Three Chairs Two Cubes playwrights! It was a tough-ass decision. And THANK YOU to all who submitted–we read far more great plays than we could produce.

(Remember, there will likely be another festival second semester, and this semester, submit monologues, get in touch with the Palimpsest Experiment via Paul x4920)

Hooray for Anna Silbovitz, our trusty SM for los tres sillas……. (that'd be “three chairs” in a language I no longer speak). And HOOOOray for Jesse, who gets the purple heart for the week for cleaning out the GNARLY fridge.

Add on to those crazy archives Thea Goddess Grant, who's been discovered to be masochistically into organization, and the joys of really cool old stuff.

On the note of cool old stuff, we're thinkin' of framing photographs from shows of new and old, to hang in the downstairs hallway. And to keep the supply coming. Just………. 'cuz.

Board Members…….next week we will have a brand spankin' new mailbox extention in the SAO on the black shelves. Our internal stuff goes here.

The Upstairs Space…… we love it. You love it. But what is it? A space for community art……does it need to be more specific? We'll see.

And, coming up next week……. that long weekend celebrating what's-his-name who wins sketchy achievement of 1492……. but our meeting is moved to Mon. at 8:00 PM. To be discussed:

  • Proposal guideline revisions.
  • SHOW PACKET!!!!!!
  • Monologues stage manager.
  • Key issues.
  • Committee “findings'”–for space maintenence.

Don't forget, y'all on the crazy board, to pick up ALL yer posters early next week: that'd be Grants, New Members, and Monologues. Ciao for now,
