"Production Workshop Minutes"

5 december 1976

In Attendance:
All board members and numerous guests (most associated with proposals). Sorry, folks, you don't all get your names listed.

Treasurer's report:
Nora told us that Kaspar and the One-Acts went quite a bit over their budgets and that Butley (thank you, Oren) was considerably under budget. Although we have a goodly sum in our account right now, we will be applying for more money from the Council before Xmas because they have an awful lot of money available.

The board heard SEVEN proposals:

  • Monica Mills proposed her original musical on the 60s.
  • Lloyd Lynford proposed Camus' The Misunderstanding or Cross-Purpose.
  • Rob Barron proposed Thornton Wilder's Our Town.
  • Barbara Ensor proposed Jack Learns a Lesson… along with John Gyory's proposal of No Flies on Frank (both original).
  • Debi Jacobson proposed The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie by Jay Allen.
  • Nora McKinney proposed The Roar of the Greasepaint, The Smell of the Crowd (I think Anthony Newly had something to do with writing this one).
  • Judd Silverman proposed Garson Kanin's Born Yesterday.

After MANY hours of discussion, the following shows and dates were decided upon:

  • February 4-6 and 11-13: The Roar of the Greasepaint…
  • February 25-27: The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie
  • March 11-13: Our Town
  • March 25-27: Cross-Purpose

CONGRATULATIONS to you and all your staffs, Mssrs Barron and Lynford, and Mlles McKinney and Jacobson.
THANKS to all of you who presented proposals and everyone, for your patience.

  • Greasepaint and Brodie are having auditions this week (keep your eyes peeled for details)
  • Our Town will be having auditions right after Intersession.
  • Cross-Purpose will be having auditions later in February.

Dutifully submitted,
Evie Lettvin
