"Production Workshop Minutes"

21 february 2006

In attendance: Blair, James, Elliot, Alana, Kaya, Sarah, Brian, Justin, Alex (at end)
Guests: Briel Steinberg, Andrew Evans, Matt (at end)
Twelfth Night:

  • good stumble-through tonight. Design run tomorrow at 8; all welcome to attend
  • Briel will tell Pete to email the tech list for help with build calls.
  • James is dissatisfied with his donut.
  • There's a budget: $250 for set, $25 for props, $175 for publicity, $150 for costumes, and nothing for lights and sound because they didn't want any.
  • The gay robe will be back.
  • Dan Rogers is wet sauerkraut in James' hand.

Week in the (fucking) Space:

  • decision meeting to directly follow this meeting. We decide that a slot mentor should double-check to make sure all proposal materials are available, and we should be clearer when advertising what we're looking for in a slot.

3rd slot:

  • Potential proposers (due TOMORROW):
    • David Greis: Night Hawks written by him
    • Mustafa: a mysterious project
    • Melissa Kagen: Songs for a New World (also to MF)
  • meeting is Saturday at 9 am.

  • This is our Youth run looked good, says Kaya.
  • Let-ins this week:
    • Wednesday at 4: James
    • Thursday at 8: Sarah (lock behind them)
    • Friday at 6: Blair
    • Friday at 8 (monitor): Brian
    • Saturday at 8 (monitor): Elliot

Space Maintenance:

  • Elliot broke James' heart. Alex will call FacMan.
  • The tiger cage is open, but there's a pile of crap inside the entrance.

  • Like the United States, the grants subcommittee acted unilaterally and gave Clara and Jeff $50 for resin and publicity, but did not fund the actor from New York citing pw funds are for Brown undergrads.

New Members:

  • Justin will email the questions to Andrew. Also potentially applying: Austin Campion, Colin Baker, Brendan Pelsue, Elizabeth Forsyth.
  • Justin suggests we email the cast and crew from all the shows we've done since the last new members round and invite them to apply. Blair will send him the Tod and I list.

Empty Space:

  • tabled
  • Well, we talk about how Todd made eggs for James while he got the bagels. The lox is gone now, too.
  • Blair mentions maybe being helpful on this topic later.

  • Better Than Dinner is now officially on the IM softball roster. He needs $30 from Justin. Blair and Justin form the taunting subcommittee, but are advised not to taunt S&B since they have John Emigh, a man of mysterious powers who would beat us up.
  • “This is not a beating up contest, it's softball,” points out Elliot.
  • Brown will provide us with bats, balls, bases, and helmets, but we have to provide our own gloves. ASK FRIENDS NOW! Brian and Alana form the uniforms subcommittee.

  • SAO gave no word on when the piano's getting moved. He'll ask this week.

  • What a thrilling installment of Muncha, Muncha, Muncha!

Matt (visitor):

  • He and his housemates want to borrow some platforms for a music performance some afternoon in March or April, dates flexible based on us.
  • We decide that'll be based on the third slot set, and we can give him a better idea in two weeks or so when we have a set design, but otherwise we wouldn't have a problem. Todd is his contact.
  • It is generally remarked that Todd is a fuckface.

  • suggests we make a generic “get involved in pw” poster that goes up once a month.
  • Did we add the folk to the pw list and the tech list? We don't have to wait for the webmaster to do that piece.
  • Brian offers to back Todd up on any web stuff; that is, Brian wishes to be the web submasta.

the PW board is: Sarah Campen, Brian Christian, Ross Cowan, Alana Jacoby, Todd Lipcon, Blair Nelsen, Elliot Quick, Alex Rosenthal, James Rutherford, Kaya Schmandt, Charly Simpson, Justin Spiegel, Tess Lantos (on leave), Hannah Lewis (on leave), and Emily Drumsta (on leave)

Taken by Brian, htmlized by Todd.
